The Town of Windham, an area known for its pure drinking water, is located in the west-central part of the county on the northern boundary of the Catskill NY State Park.
Over the past 45 years, Windham has become well-known as one of New York's favorite ski areas. But Windham actually comes alive during the spring and throughout the fall season with the following outdoor activities: hiking, biking, golf, swimming, fishing and numerous other events.
This year, MSS-NewYork is pleased to support with The Windham 2010 Mountain Bike World Cup Festival to be held in Windham, NY from August 26th to 29th. This will be the most important international sporting event to come to upstate New York since the 1980 Winter Olympics was staged in Lake Placid, NY. We are pleased to welcome riders from around the U.S. and more than 40 countries, including seven Japanese riders
WIndham World Cup Course
After successfully competing against several other sites around the world, Windham was selected by UCI (the International Association of the National Cycling Federation) to host this year’s World Cup. The selection was made following two seasons on the national circuit, during which Windham's courses garnered rave reviews from top rated mountain bikers. Biking enthusiasts and fans from across the globe will be paying special attention to the Town of Windham. In 2005 New Mexico was the last U.S city to host a mountain bike World Cup. The finals have never been held before in a U.S city.
